Here is a great recipe book you can download with great recipes in it!!!  I got one of these books with my Today’s Parent magazine.  Well I decided to try out a recipe that’s in there called the “Chocolate Caramel Cookie Bark”.  It reminds me of a “you-bake” pack that I bought from Costco last year or the year before and it’s sooooo good!!!  I never put the almonds in, but they are optional.  Plus you can go to their website and enter to win $10,000.  Hope you enjoy the book and happy baking, and you never know you might end up winning the money as well!!

Updates on my blog

As some of you might know, we have recently moved our family. We were supposed to get the internet hooked up actually on Tuesday, and it was booked a month ago, but first of all one of their staff members called in sick and was not able to make it, and so now they had to cancel all of their appointments. Well then, they were supposed to come today to hook it up, but I guess they needed a certain type of part for something (not sure exactly what) and of course they do not have this particular part, and now it might be two weeks or so before I can get my internet. BOO on them!!! I was very glad, however, when the satellite guy came today!! (at least I will have something). So I had to write this from my work. So in case you are wondering why I have not been updating my blog, now you know why!!

Giving back to a child

I think it is great to win contests, save money, and pass on all your knowledge to someone else who needs it.  Pay it forward is a great way to spend your life.  It is great to receive, but it is also rewarding to give.  And who needs it better than a child from a third world country who is poor and doesn’t have the everyday comforts that we have like Timmy’s coffee, Starbucks, etc… 

Really to give someone a better life, $35.00 a month is not bad at all.  It is very reasonable.  If you were ever in a situation where you needed help, you would be grateful to receive it.  So I think it is great to help those who need it whether it just be a small gift or something much better.  Remember one day you might need the same help especially with the economy the way it is. 

I have been giving for about a year to a child in Kenya from Compassion and hopefully one day she will have a good enough life that she will be able to give back too!  But I’m sure she will pay it forward too!
